This virtual two-session professional education experience prepares fundraising staff to optimize engagement of clinicians as fundraising partners. The session emphasizes concepts, processes, and skills for building strong professional working relationships that lead to increased giving.

Learning Objectives

Recognize clinician perspectives of fundraising.
Understand appropriate and ethical roles for clinicians in fundraising.
Prioritize a portfolio of clinician partners for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
Develop and implement a strategy to engage clinicians and build their commitment to partnering with development.
Understand approaches for working with clinicians to identify funding priorities and coaching clinicians to articulate those priorities in a way compelling to donors.
Use a variety of methods to build and maintain strong professional relationships with clinicians.

Dates and Times

The two sessions of the virtual workshop will be held from 12:00–3:30 p.m. CT on the following dates:

Monday, November 8, 2021
Tuesday, November 9, 2021

Virtual workshops are held live. Participants should plan to attend the each day. Workshop recordings and/or make-up sessions are not available.

Classroom Engagements

Participants will attend two 3.5-hour sessions in a real-time virtual classroom. This experience features networking opportunities, application exercises, and interactive facilitator support. To enhance the virtual experience, all workshop materials will be provided in a digital format and can be printed for individual usage, if desired.

Sessions are scheduled for each individual workshop offering, with both sessions taking place over a one-week period. Participants in each cohort should be prepared to attend all sessions, as this is not a webinar, and interactivity is essential to the success of the experience.

Technical Requirements

Participants are required to download the Zoom™ application in order to participate in the workshop. Participants should be prepared to use an individual computer, speakers, a microphone, and a strong internet connection.

A detailed welcome guide will be sent to all participants prior to the first session.
