Virtual Offering
The live, two-part series will be held from January 5–6, 2021

This intense, two-part workshop for deans, department chairs, and other academic leaders focuses on building and articulating a compelling Opportunity Story for their department or program. During each 4-hour session, participants will join a real-time, facilitator-led, virtual classroom and experience group discussion, video case studies, and opportunities for real-world application. Participants also explore donor motivation and the roles that academic leaders play in helping potential donors make significant contributions to the institution.

Because a strong working relationship between a dean/academic leader and their development partner is essential to academic leaders’ success in fundraising, we encourage these partners to attend the session together.

Following the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to further reinforce training by engaging the team (dean/academic leader and their development partner) with one of Advancement Resources’ coaches for a one-hour personalized coaching session at no additional cost.

Investment

$950 USD per participant or $1,200 USD for a dean/academic leader and development partner to attend together.

To enhance the culture of philanthropy at participating organizations and encourage strong working relationships, the workshop investment includes registrations for two people. To receive this pair rate, please register both participants online at the same time. Individual registrations will be charged $950.

Date and Time

The two sessions of the virtual workshop will be held from 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. CT on the following dates:

Tuesday, January 5, 2021
Wednesday, January 6, 2021

Virtual workshops are held live. Participants should attend all sessions for the full workshop experience. Workshop recordings and/or make-up sessions are not available.

Classroom Engagements

Participants will attend two four-hour sessions in a real-time virtual classroom. This experience features networking opportunities, application exercises, and interactive facilitator support. To enhance the virtual experience, all workshop materials will be provided in a digital format and can be printed for individual usage, if desired. Participants should be prepared to attend the entire session, as this is not a webinar, and interactivity is essential to the success of the experience.

Pre-and Post-Work Assignments

Participants receive a pre-workshop assignment with instructions for accessing the virtual classroom, as well as questions for reflection and preparation to complete in-class activities.

The week following the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to further reinforce training by engaging the team (dean/academic leader and their development partner) with one of Advancement Resources’ coaches for a one-hour personalized coaching session at no additional cost.

Technical Requirements

Participants are required to download the Adobe® Connect™ application in order to participate in the workshop. Participants should be prepared to use an individual computer, speakers, a microphone, and strong internet connection.

A detailed welcome guide will be sent to all participants prior to the first session.
