Kevin McAteer
Kevin McAteer brings over 33 years of expertise in fundraising within academic medicine and higher education. Currently, he serves as Divisional Vice President of Philanthropy at Beth Israel Lahey Health, Metro Boston Division and oversees the philanthropy programs at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Joslin Diabetes Center, Mount Auburn Hospital, and New England Baptist Hospital. At Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Kevin is leading a $1.2B comprehensive campaign having raised $755M to date, including significant contributions for a new inpatient facility that opened in April 2023.
Previously, Kevin was the inaugural Chief Development Officer at the University of Vermont Foundation and the University of Vermont Health Network. His innovative strategies in aligning fundraising efforts between the medical center and the university resulted in dramatic increases in annual fundraising production across various departments.
Earlier in his career, Kevin held senior roles at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine and Middlebury College. His ability to foster collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders has been pivotal in exceeding fundraising goals and enhancing organizational capacity.
He is recognized for his thought leadership in healthcare philanthropy and is passionate about creating impactful philanthropic initiatives that advance healthcare and education.
